Rishikesh is world’s most revered

Yamnotri
Yamunotri shrine situated 3,235 mt above sea level is an
important pilgrimage spot for Hindus. It is situated
opposite to Gangotri, and you can also visit the shrine via
Mussoorie and Barkot.
Gangotri
The shrine of Gangotri is situated at the height of 3200
meters. It is a beautiful site surrounded by trees of pines
and deodars. Thousands of people visit the shrine every year
people. The place houses many ashrams and dharamshalas along
side the river. You can also visit the natural Shivling at
Gangotri, which is submerged in the river. According to
mythology, Lord Shiva sat here when he received the Goddess
Ganga in his entwined tresses.
Kedarnath
Visit Kedarnath shrine to see one of the 12 jyotirlingas of
Lord Shiva. This too is a beautiful place set against the
majestic Kedarnath range at an altitude of 3,581 mt. It is
a 14 km trek from Gaurikund. Kedarnath has more than 200
shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva in Chamoli district itself,
and Kedarnath is one of the most important shrine.
Badrinath
The shrine of Bardrinath is situated in the lap of
Nar-Narayan Parvat, and is one of the most religious Hindu
shrines of India. You can visit one of the most pious
shrines -Badrinath temple, which is situated at a height of
3,133 mt. The place is extremely beautiful and offers many
recreational spots for tourists from across the globe.
Bharat Mandir
Built by Adiguru Shankra Chrya in the 12th century, Bharat
Mandir is located in the heart of the town on the Banks of
the Ganga river. You can find the detailed story about the
oldest temple of Rishikesh in anciant record of Kearkhand.
Parmarth Niketan
It is another famous temple in the area , which is known
for
its world famous work on Hinduism. The temple complex houses
a school and an ashram, which are run on traditional Indian
Patterns. You can participate in the magnificent Ganga Arti
and Hawan every evening.
Kunjapuri Temple
You can drive to Kunja Puri, which is one of the thirteen
most important temples of Goddesses of Shivalik range. You
can witness sunrise or sun set on the Greater Hiamalayan
from this temple and view the the peaks of Garhwal Himalayas
from here.
Rishikund
Near Trivenighat, Rishikund is another ancient place with
records relating it to Kubz Saint , who was blessed by the
Goddess Yamuna by saturating this pond by its water. This
pond reflects the temple of Ragunath in its waters, which is
dedicated to lord Rama and his wife.
Triveni Ghat
It is one of the main Ghats in the town where many pilgrims
take holy dip. Pilgrims even come here every evening to
witness and participate in the Ganga Arti.
Preparation Tips
The best time for the pilgrimage is from April end to

April/ Early may and lasts till the day of Deepawali or end
of October/early November.
